Founded in 1832, Durham is a world class university offering academic excellence. In 2006/07 Durham University was placed 8th in the Sunday Times Guide to UK Universities and in 2005/06 was awarded University of the Year. The University offers over 200 programmes of undergraduate study and many departments have been rated “excellent” by the Quality Assurance Agency.
Durham is a collegiate University with twelve colleges and one society located in Durham City, and two colleges located on the Queen’s Campus at Stockton. The college structure is unique and offers a small, friendly, close-knit student community to help you enjoy a rich and fulfilling university experience.
Durham University offered opportunities in over fifty sports to its students in 2006/07 and was placed 8th in the BUSA rankings. The University has five target sports of rowing, hockey, cricket, fencing and rugby.
