Projects | Student Volunteering

Once actively engaged in the SUNEE initiatives we offer our volunteers free access to a host of sports based qualifications such as National Governing Body awards.

The job market today for graduates is very competitive and sometimes a degree is not always enough.  Employers look for that bit extra and you need something to help you stand out from the job application crowd.

Through sports volunteering you can:

  • enhance your employability
  • do something rewarding and staisfying
  • develop life skills such as leadership, communication and teamwork
  • put something back into the local community in which you sutdy and live

Volunteering can give you  the chance to develop new skills, put old ones into use, enhance your CV and try something different.  it can also help make a huge difference to someone else's life, team or club.  You can also gain additional sports coaching qualifications through volunteering.

SUNEE has also developed a number of scholarship opportunities for the academic year 2009/10.  These are posts that can be applied for only by those who have engaged as volunteers previously and offer a small financial incentive for the successful applicants.

Opportunities at each university are vast and varied and more information is available via the Sports Developement Officers, listed below or via the University web pages.
