Projects
SUNEE is involved in various projects across the region, and these are listed below:
Looked after children
SUNEE aims to assist a variety of community groups to access regular sport and physical activity opportunities in a safe and structured environment.
Schools
In looking to develop the skills of our North Est based students SUNEE aims to work with school aged children throughout the region.
High Performance Camps
The universities continue to produce a number of high profile sporting stars and by providing a series of high performance camps we hope to continue the regions legacy in this important area.
Disengaged Young People
SUNEE aims to provide opportunities to groups and individuals in the community who may otherwise not have access to regular physical activity. Utilising our student workforce we want to work with agencies and organisations throughout the region who are involved with disengaged young people.
Podium Young Event Managers
Each year SUNEE is committed to working with groups of young people from around the region through the Podium Young Event Managers programme.
Student Volunteering
Core to all of the work SUNEE undertakes is our students. We aim to engage students into coaching and volunteering opportunities in order to develop their skills and employability. By working with an array of partners we offer a large and varied amount of practical placements that students can engage with, either within the university environment or in the local communities.
SUNEE Street League
SUNEE has been working with organisations involved with homelessness and drugs and alcohol treatment for a number of years. Our first major project entitled Second Chance provided clients with opportunities to access weekly football and multi-sport coaching sessions.
Vulnerable Women's Groups
SUNEE is keen to engage with vulernable women's groups whose participants may otehrwise not engage in regular physical activity.
