Welcome to Sport Universities North East England (SUNEE)

 

The ground breaking scheme is a collaboration of the non academic sports departments of the five North East universities: Durham, Newcastle, Northumbria, Sunderland and Teesside.

Initially run as a national pilot project, SUNEE works with partner organisations in the universities and communities throughout the North East.  Utilising its student workforce SUNEE aims to break down barriers and increase engagement in physical activity and sport by delivering a portfolio of sport related projects.

SUNEE will have a dramatic impact on the lives of our students and staff as well as the community of the North East through the promotion of physical activity. The opportunities for partnership development and the potential for working with marginalised groups are central to this ground breaking project."
